Position Summary Information

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate courses in entertainment industry studies, including, but not limited to, survey, business, marketing, and audio courses as related to the discipline. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, committee work, student mentoring, scholarly activity, and university service.

Qualifications

Post baccalaureate degree in entertainment industry studies, business, recording arts, music, music technology or related discipline required. Thorough understanding of methods and current developments in the field of entertainment industry studies; knowledge and demonstration of successful college-level instructional strategies and techniques; ability to advise, instruct, manage, motivate, and evaluate students; professional-level knowledge of the music and entertainment industry; skilled in the use of computers and internet resources; ability to successfully interact with students, other educators and educational institution representatives, and the general public in a professional manner; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to work collaboratively in course design and to teach interdisciplinary and topical courses; ability to learn relevant sections of Delta State University’s online integrated database systems for student records management; ability to integrate technology into the teaching and learning process.

Salary Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and university’s resources.
